米阶畅台是一个供游客休憩的观景平台。当地称为“米阶”。为采集或营生,道家术士、药农必须克服丹崖的“顶平、坡陡、麓缓”,为上山采药临时开辟石阶攀登。这里弯折向上有一处泰宁民间药农手凿的Z字石坎,相传800年前,泰宁青年邹应龙为入深山苦读,因状元岩无路可上,也曾从这斗米石阶抵达山顶,5年后邹应龙赴京赶考高中状元,艰险的山崖小阶成为他深山求隐、苦读经书的最好见证。
Rice Stairs and Smooth Platform
Rice Stairs and Smooth Platform is a viewing platform. Danxia landform features “flat top, steep cliff and gentle slope” which can be easily observed here. In the past, Taoists and herbalist managed to excavate the rice-grain-shaped stairs along the steep cliff face to collect herbs. Therefore, this zigzagging stairs on the cliff side are named “rice stairs”. There is a popular story that, around 800 years ago, a famous scholar named Zou Yinglong, taking these stairs to get into the remote mountains, devoted himself to study hard for years. He finally came out the first in the palace examination after five years hard working in the secluded mountains and became a senior government official. It is said that these stairs are the best witness of his hard working.
